MBIC is a coalition of like minded progressive voters from metro Boston communities fighting for our Democracy. From Congressional Districts MA5, MA6 and MA7.

This is a nonpartisan group, all parties welcome provided that they support open dialogue on issues that promote the preservation of our democracy.

Group Rules

Introduction

At this time MBIC purposely does not have any group moderators and nor do we screen your posts. We are all adults and expect one another to behave as such. Open posting is the group facilitator's [Kate Merritt-OToole] philosophy. Free speech is a founding tenant of America and everyone has something to contribute to this group and the movement. With that being said, should the need arise, the open posting policy could be revisited. In the interim If a group member is concerned about a post made by another member, the expectation is that the members dialogue with one another off line (via the chat feature) to resolve the issue(s). If an agreement cannot be reached, then and only then, should the group facilitator be brought into the discussion.

1) Be respectful:

Treat others with kindness and respect. Don't make personal attacks or use degrading language.

2) No bullying:

Don't bully, attack, or escalate fights.

3) No hate speech:

Don't tolerate hate speech or comments that degrade others based on race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

4) No spam:

Don't post irrelevant links or self-promote. Respect privacy: Keep what's shared in the community private.

5) Stick to the topic:

Post content that's relevant to the group.

6) Be courteous:

Introduce yourself and comment on other people's posts.

7) Be inclusive:

Be open to other opinions and perspectives.

8) Report harmful content:

Use the "Report to Admin" tool to flag potentially harmful content.
